Wendy Bourne MP, State Member for Ipswich West, stood in Queensland Parliament on Thursday 30 October to acknowledge the extraordinary contributions of the Rosewood Craft and Quilters Society to the Ipswich West community.
Ms Bourne detailed the group’s decades-long history of creativity, generosity, and community spirit, highlighting its commitment to supporting those in need through the provision of handmade quilts and fundraising activities.
Founded more than 30 years ago, the Rosewood Craft and Quilters Society brings together local volunteers who not only share their love of craft and quilting but also use their talents to make a real difference. Each year, the group donates hundreds of handmade quilts to various causes, including patients at Ipswich Hospital, local aged care residents, and families experiencing hardship.
During her speech, Ms Bourne thanked the Craft and Quilters members for their ongoing efforts and acknowledged their positive impact on Rosewood and the wider region.
