Cuts to the staffed hours at Rosewood Station by the LNP Government will leave commuters across Ipswich West less safe and less supported when using public transport.
Under the changes, up to 700 Queensland Rail workers will be cut from stations across South East Queensland, including at Rosewood Station.
Rosewood will be left without staff after 1:00pm on weekdays and no staff on weekends, removing a critical safety presence for students, and removing assistance for people with disabilities, and the elderly.
Unstaffed stations create environments where passengers are vulnerable, particularly at night or in quieter periods. Without staff present, incidents of antisocial behaviour, harassment, and crime are harder to prevent and respond to.
The Member for Ipswich West, Wendy Bourne, is calling on the State Government to reverse the cuts to Rosewood Station and guarantee minimum staffing levels across the network in Ipswich West.
