Wendy Bourne MP, State Member for Ipswich West, has lodged a petition calling for toilet and changeroom facilities at Caledonian Park soccer fields.
Further, she welcomes news that a Notice of Motion will be brought at the next Ipswich City Council meeting to address the longstanding lack of appropriate toilet facilities at the Caledonian Park soccer fields.
Ms Bourne affirms that this is a direct outcome of sustained community pressure and months of advocacy.
Ms Bourne was first alerted to the lack of adequate facilities at Caledonia Park soccer fields some time ago, and she has been regularly writing to Ministers and Ipswich City Council calling for immediate facility upgrades.
The petition called on Council to upgrade the facilities at the fields and garnered over 100 signatures from the community. The strong response from local families and club volunteers has reinforced the urgency of the situation.
Ms Bourne welcomes the decision by Division 4 councillors to bring forward a motion at the next Council meeting.
